Calliga is a heavy display typeface designed exclusively for headlines, taking its initial structural inspiration from the historic Fanfare typeface. The project consists of two distinct styles that feature a set of ligatures: a Geometric Cut, defined by sharp, brutalist inner spaces, and an Organic Cut, characterized by fluid, wavy internal counters. Due to its massive weight and high visual contrast, the font is built for bold, unconventional visual identities, making it particularly suited, for example, for underground music posters, alternative theater branding, tattoo studios, or natural wine labels.
